Martin Mbewe


Martin Mbewe is a multimedia journalist and development communications specialist serving as the Communications and Programmes Coordinator at Tingathe Malawi. He is a 2025 Club of Rome Communications Fellow and a Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) RLC South Africa alumnus.

Passionate about using communication to drive positive change, Martin believes that great stories can inspire action, influence conversations and help communities build a better future. His work focuses on sharing the voices and experiences of young people, women and children while promoting sustainable development and social impact.

Before joining Tingathe, Martin worked as a current affairs reporter with the Malawi Broadcasting Corporation and supported communications initiatives with Cure International and the Ministry of Agriculture. Through these roles, he gained valuable experience in journalism and communications, contributing to public engagement, media outreach, strategic communications and storytelling initiatives.

Martin has also written and published thought pieces on social issues, including climate change and education, which have appeared on both local and international platforms. He is committed to using communication as a bridge between communities, ideas and opportunities for growth.
