Meet Hajira Rashid, a Carpentry and Joinery student at Tingathe. Hajira had a passion for carpentry and joinery, so when the opportunity to join the Tingathe Training Program arose, she jumped at it.

Hajira has learned how to make chairs and desks, as well as build roof frames and install windows, as part of the program. She has learned entrepreneurial skills in addition to handwork, which she believes will help her become an entrepreneur when she graduates.

Following the completion of her studies, Hajira will not only be inspired to self-employment, but she will also be creating job opportunities for young people in her community in order to reduce the unemployment rate.
