Today has been an exciting day for us at Tingathe because we conducted orientation for the Tingathe Geni (TG) Programme in Mtandire, which will start on Monday, March 18, 2024. This programme was designed to bring impact to vulnerable people, with a 60/40 participation ratio favoring women aged 20 to 40 who are either currently engaged in or aspiring to start micro and small businesses.
The training curriculum encompasses various areas including personal leadership, business management, financial literacy, child protection, sexual and reproductive health, as well as human rights knowledge. Our aim is to equip participants with the skills needed to thrive and to significantly enhance their income and alleviate poverty.
Key focus areas of the programme include imparting skills in the production of charcoal briquettes and cooking oil. Post-training, participants are grouped and provided with access to machinery at our community offices, which facilitates the commencement of production of products that provide immediate returns but also have a tremendously positive effect on the ecology of the community.
