Today has been an exciting day as we hosted a refresher training session for the 2022 and 2023 beneficiaries of the Tingathe Training Programme and Tingathe Geni (formerly Azimai Tingathe Geni), ), under the theme “Dream, Innovate, Build, and Collaborate: Celebrating Alumni Achievements.” The main goal of this training was to ensure continuous progress and to assess the impact of our programs on the lives and communities of our alumni across all our catchment areas. It was a joyous occasion to reconnect with our alumni and listen to how our programs have influenced their lives.
During the session, we were privileged to hear success stories from several alumni. Jacqueline Komboni, who studied Tailoring and Fashion Design course, now owns a tailoring workshop with two fellow alumni. James Nampanda, a graduate of Hospitality and Service Management, is currently employed as an Office Assistant at Falls Assemblies of God organization. Michael Million, who studied Carpentry and Joinery, is serving his community with his acquired skills. Additionally, Patrick Willijon, who studied Peri-urban Horticulture, now owns a successful farm in Dowa and has been instrumental in teaching his community about compost manure production and other agricultural techniques.
The event was graced by the presence of our valued partners from Old Mutual Malawi and the National Economic Empowerment Fund Limited – NEEF who provided our alumni with financial knowledge and investment opportunities. We also enjoyed performances from our partners Pakhonde Youth Drama Group, who entertained us with drama, traditional dances, and poetry.
We extend our gratitude to Old Mutual Malawi and NEEF for their participation, as we believe that the insights they shared will impact the lives of our alumni, their communities, and the country at large.
