Tingathe inspires young minds at the Day of Ideas event in Nkhotakota

Today Tingathe team travelled to Mbalame Village at Fish Eagle Bay Lodge in Nkhotakota to take part in the Day of Ideas event. The event was organised by Dusty Orange Projects Et Al (DOPE Malawi), the team behind the famous Lake of Stars Arts Festival.

The Day of Ideas brought together children and young people from different schools across Nkhotakota to learn, share ideas, and get inspired. The event was full of activities, including panel discussions, workshops, exhibitions, and performances — all aimed at encouraging creativity, learning, and positive thinking among the youth.

Tingathe joined as an exhibitor and also led an Eco-briquettes Production workshop. During the workshop, we demonstrated how eco-briquettes are made and explained how they help protect the environment. We also participated in a panel discussion called Eco Warriors of the Earth, where we shared our experiences and ideas on environmental care.

Our Communications and Programmes Coordinator, Martin Mbewe, represented Tingathe during the panel. He highlighted how Tingathe is helping communities care for the environment while also creating income opportunities through projects like the Tingathe Eco-briquettes Project.

Events like this remind us that when young people are given the right platform, they can dream bigger, think differently and create change. At Tingathe, we empower the next generation to use their skills, creativity and ideas to build Malawi.
