Meet Bosco Kanjauke from Chitedze, Lilongwe.

Bosco is one of our Peri-urban Horticulture students at Tingathe. He is part of the 2024–2025 cohort and will be graduating on May 28, 2025. But even before graduating, Bosco has already started putting what he has learned into action!

He is now doing irrigated bean farming on about one acre of land in his community. After learning both theory and practical farming skills through our vocational training program, Bosco was inspired to follow his passion and treat farming as a business.

He made this decision after doing market research, looking at costs versus profits, and learning about crop management—all topics taught in our course.

This project will improve Bosco’s income and food security, and it will also help his community by increasing access to locally grown beans and showing other young people that farming can be a good business.

We are proud of Bosco for already applying his skills before graduation. This is the kind of impact we love to see at Tingathe!
