Today, we hosted a graduation ceremony at our community center in Mtandire for 132 women who completed our Tingathe Geni Programme. This programme is designed to empower vulnerable communities and promote entrepreneurship, with a particular focus on supporting women and youth engaged in or aspiring to engage in micro and small businesses. The curriculum of the programme covers topics such as personal leadership, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, eco-friendly charcoal briquette production, and cooking oil production.
Tingathe courses are tailored to build capacity among target groups, such as women business owners, and youth, to become change-makers in their communities. We believe that the knowledge and skills these women have acquired will help them improve their lives as we work towards achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 1, 5, and 8. These SDGs focus on eradicating poverty, promoting sustained, inclusive, and sustainable economic growth, achieving gender equality, and empowering all women and girls.
